The wood is light in weight, light yellow or white in color, fine-grained, strong, and durable. When used as a lining in drawers, chests, and cabinets, it is said to repel moths & insects. This board came out of a closed patternmaker’s shop and is over 30 years old. There is a corner of sapwood on one side that extends 4” into one face. The sapwood has pinholes. Kiln-dried.
