own work. |

Amboyna
Burl
(Pterocarpus indicus)
At
Gilmer Wood Company, timber gets in the blood of the employees. So
when lunchtime rolls around there is nothing better than a slice of
favorite burl.

A guitar many
years in the making is this beauty by Marc Culbertson, who runs
the instrument wood division at Gilmer Wood Company. With over
25 years of building experience, Marc crafted this guitar from
a fantastic carved top of crotch Mahogany from Guatemala laid
atop a block of curly Hawaian Koa. Note the fingerboard of "spider
web" Brazilian Rosewood. |
