This figured board and the one just below it on the pile are book-matched and from a log found in Gabon. It is very fine-grained and takes a nice polish. The width varies from 27” to 34” but we have tallied 28” of width inside the sapwood.
One edge is square and one is waney. From one side of the boards to the other the grain varies from flat-sawn to quartersawn.
