Western Red Cedar Guitar Top Sets
Thuja plicata
This is a large conifer species growing along the Pacific Coast of the U.S.A. At one time most wooden shingles used in the U.S.A. were cut from Western Red Cedar. Old-growth billets with little or no grain run-out produce excellent tonewood for guitars and other musical instruments.
These sets are from a new batch we have just received. They are stiff, great tone and sustain, crispy texture. Some of the nicest we have had in years and some of the best Cedar we have ever seen.
A has a couple minor defects that will either surface out or be cut off. Should make an outstanding top.
