This rare species is found in Papua New Guinea and on some of the Pacific archipelagos. It is the same species that produces the Amboyna Burl from Southeast Asia but has lighter coloration. The relatively small sizes that are available are perfect for furniture inlays and bandings, drawer fronts, jewelry cases, small turnings, knife handles, pistol grips, jewelry cabochons and beads, etc.
