Figured Tasmanian Blackwood
Acacia melanoxylon
The heartwood of Tasmanian Blackwood is a golden-brown to reddish-brown color, oftentimes with darker streaks. It is extremely lustrous and takes a beautiful, smooth finish. It is a very close match to Koa and the type of figuring and tonal qualities is similar.
