Huon Pine

Dacrydium Franklinii

Huon pine is the most valuable of the Tasmanian Pines. The heartwood is pale straw color with a fine, even texture, a bit greasy to the touch. It is aromatic due to an essential oil, methyl eugenol.

This is an extremely rare billet. An internet search found no sources within the United States and only a few small pieces available within Tasmania.
